Removing walls is often a doable option for creating a bigger space or an open floor plan. But before you begin swinging your sledgehammer, get a contractor to confirm that the wall isn’t load-bearing.
Damaging a load-bearing wall can have grave consequences, such as a ceiling caving in. And if that isn’t bad enough, it can also be risky for the homeowner and result in many injuries.
