Small Bathroom? Make a Statement With These 16 Tricks!

Lift the curtain

If you have the option of choosing where to put your shower curtain, then we’d definitely recommend you take the fabric as high as possible, even past the usual height of the tub. That’s one of the best designer tricks I’ve ever heard of. Extending the curtain as close to the ceiling as possible might elongate the walls. Also, if your ceiling is taller than many other bathroom ceilings, it will help even more. You will get that effect faster.

Keep the floor clear

Covering the floor with a pretty bathroom vanity or even storage containers might give the impression of a cramped space, let alone all those tripping hazards. Also, a floating vanity or even a pedestal will help you keep a clear floor while installing additional floating storage will keep everything you need closer to you.

Try a large-scale wall covering

Even if you’d be tempted to go for a petite motif, it’s actually much better to go as big as you can. Medium and large-scale wallpapers but also tile patterns might make the space feel way larger, which is great. I mean, that’s what you want, right? Whether you go for big tiles or even bigger patterns is totally up to your decision. But whatever you might choose, it will give an illusionary scale in tight quarters.

High-gloss paint to reflect the light

This is definitely my favorite trick because you get to maximize your space just by painting your walls. If you use light-reflecting high-gloss paint, you might get the results you wish for in your small bathroom: the illusion of a bigger space with a little drop of bourgeois.

These are some very good ideas and I can’t wait to run them by my wife to see what she thinks. We have always had a small bathroom in every place we’ve lived over the years and now we have enough $ that we can do something about it. After almost 48 years together I believe it’s time for us to splurge a little and do something that we both will like!

My bathroom is small, none of the bathrooms in the pictures are small. I already have a pattern floor, no shower door, etc. article not helpful.
