Make most of the space with a cabinet on top of the refrigerator
It has become one of the most used features in big kitchens, mostly when people order their custom cabinets or even make them themselves. It is not a bad idea at all, even if you have a smaller kitchen and do not plan to change the whole layout of your kitchen. You do not need to spend a fortune to gain more cabinet space, especially if your kitchen furniture is still in great condition.
All you need to do if you have space on top of your fridge that is not being used and you just place things on top of it is to find a cabinet that matches the rest of your kitchen and install it on top of it! It is one of the easiest ways to gain some more storage space, and you will just be maximizing the space you already have. And in that cabinet, which can end up being harder to reach, you can store items that you rarely need or seasonal items!
While it may seem hard to find a cabinet that will fit in with the rest of your furniture, you can always get one that fits your measurements in white or a plain wood color and then paint or stain it to your desired shade!
