House smell
If there’s one thing that guests will notice first about your home, it’s the way it smells, of course. You have to make sure you get rid of any bad odors, whether they’re coming from your pets, dirty dishes, or even laundry.
These are probably the first things you need to clean before having guests because, as we all know, houses might have bad odors that you’re not even aware of. In some cases, you’ve gotten used to them, but when your guests arrive, trust me, they’ll notice the difference. Dog odor is particularly pungent, so if you’re the proud owner of a dog, it’s highly important to pay attention to that.
Walls
Unless there’s someone in your family (usually a toddler) who actively draws on your walls, I bet you barely remember that they also need to be washed every now and then. Well, when you’re thinking of what to clean before having guests, you also need to remember to wash your walls.
Wiping them down is very important because they can accumulate dust and grime. Make sure you use a gentle cleaner and a soft cloth to avoid further damaging the paint on your walls. Pro tip: Choose cleaning bottles that are bigger so the cleaner lasts for longer. You might be shocked when you realize how much dirt is hidden on our walls.
