One of the first things plumbers never do is to pour grease down the drain
That tasty bacon you just cooked for breakfast left the pan in a total mess, and you must clean it properly. But how do you do it? First, you must get rid of that mushy grease, but never pour it down the kitchen sink! Otherwise, the pipes will get clogged, and you will have a bit of trouble.
What’s the outcome of all this chaos? A fatberg is a nasty, sewer-damaging mass. Because we know you don’t want that to happen, plumbers advise us to scrape all the grease into the garbage bin and, if it’s warm, pour it into a jar to throw it later. Since this does more harm than good, plumbers never do this to their kitchen sink!

For excess grease after cooking save and use your old paper coffee cups instead of a jar or plastic. Freeze the grease then dispose in garbage on morning of garbage collection. I do this with many of old cooking liquids and in summer chicken and meat bones
