A lot of us are facing some struggles when it comes to finding convenient storage places outdoors. No.1: Make the most of your benches

If there is one solution that should have been on everyone’s radar when it comes to getting more storage space in outdoor spaces, it would have to be making the most of your bench. After all, a lot of us have a bench or two on the patio, on balconies, and in other spaces in the garden. Just adding a storage box is not always going to work when it comes to the design, not to mention that it would take up space you could use for something else.

This is why getting a bench with a storage box is the best choice you can make, especially since they are not only practical when it comes to putting stuff away while keeping it protected, but also attractive from an aesthetic point of view. Benches are a great addition to any outdoor space, and they give off an elegant and put-together feel. Not to mention, it is also practical cause you can use it both as a seating place, but also as a coffee table if needed.

No.2: Storing cabinets on the patio

Speaking of patios, a lot of us have dreamed of getting our dream home in order to be able to have a patio. They are great whether we are talking about hosting parties, having friends and family over, or just lounging. Yet, having one doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t make use of the space that is there when it comes to storage methods.

After all, there is a lot of space on a patio, and we should use it to the best of our abilities. Getting some storage cabinets for the patio may just be the solution you have been waiting for but never considered. If you have an outdoor kitchen, then you can keep all the utensils you need there, and even if you do not, you can keep all sorts of things you may need when it comes to your outdoor spaces there without having to worry about cluttering the cupboards inside the house.

Not to mention, you can use most cabinets out there, even some that you are thinking of changing inside the home! Just make sure to give them a fresh coat of outdoor paint before starting to use them.

No.3: Make a bike storage shed

This one can be a lifesaver, especially when kids end up accumulating a lot of toys and other types of riding equipment that is best kept outside or in a garage. The garage is a space that can get cluttered pretty fast, especially if you have more than one car, and if your kids or grandkids have a lot of bikes, scooters, trikes, rollerblades, and the like, you will need a designated space for them pretty fast. Especially if you already own a few bicycles!

Building this shed is not going to be hard, and you can make a waterproof roof for it as well, so no rain or snow will get inside of it and everything will be protected. This shed will help you with storage and also be a great way to keep everything organized. Not to mention, the little ones will love having their own “garage” to park their bikes, and the shed will help you teach them to keep everything tidy and in its place!

No.4: Repurpose a crate

When it comes to needing more storage space outdoors, sometimes this can be easily achieved if you repurpose some crates and turn them into something more useful. You can always use more little tables around the seating areas and at the ends of benches, so why not try this project out and hit two birds with one stone?

You will need a crate, which you will have to repurpose into a small table that has storage space inside. If the crate also has a lid, it will be even better because it will be able to close, but even if that is not the case, it will still work pretty well. You just have to give it a new coat of waterproof paint and use it as a small table; you can even add a small tablecloth on top to make it more aesthetic. Then you can store outdoor dishes or family games in it too!

You can always take it a step further and construct something larger, such as a moving cart, out of those crates; this will give you more storage space and allow you to move it wherever you need it! Whether you are gardening or entertaining guests, this one will serve multiple purposes!

No.5: Outdoor island

Do you have a barbecue grill? It is a fantastic idea to consider incorporating one into an outdoor island if you have one! Not only will it give you more space for you to cook and even prep drinks and foods outside, you will also end up having more storage space around the BBQ for all your grill tools and even other outdoor dishes and items you may need.

You can keep everything on hand, from all the tools you may need to cook the meat and other things you plan to BBQ to the ones needed to make some fun drinks. Believe us, when you have all these types of tools on hand instead of having to keep walking between the house and the garden every time you need another utensil, you will realize just how amazing an outdoor island can be!

No.6: A new life for an old dresser

If the idea of having to DIY a coffee table or change the spaces you already have to make room for more storage does not appeal to you, perhaps you should look into ready-made storage solutions. This one would require very little DIY skills and even time, a basic dresser from IKEA, some outdoor paint, and some wheels. You can easily attach the wheels to the dresser (it doesn’t even have to be IKEA; it can be any dresser you may think of changing around the home), give it a fresh coat of paint, and you are done!

You now have an outdoor dresser made specifically to help you store everything from yard and gardening tools to dishes and rags, candles, and even the odd tools that can make their way into its drawers!

Best thing? You can always use the top of it to store and display some potted plants, and it can even double as a gardening surface when you might need it!

And if you’re trying to get to make the most of your attic space, here are our best choices for an improved storage plan!
